The Status of Inservice Education and Needed Content of Working Nurses in Taegu Area

Abstract

|
This study was conduct ed to servey inservice education and educational needs of 2198
nurses in Teagu city by using the questionnaire from April 8 to July 30, 1998.
The results of this study were as follows ;
In gener al characteristics of the subjects , the percentage of the age under 29 was 60, the educational level over nursing junior college(78.4%), the average year of working career was under 5 in highest rate(39.4%), the percentage of single nurse(54.5%) was more than married nurs e and the nurses in hospital(47.4%).
Item of inservice education received in most recently was nursing intervention (94.3%).
Most of all nurses were satisfied with inservice education received.
Among the subjects 63.6% responded profes sional nurse attending in practical area
inservice education and the optimal number of student s in one class was under sixty in
the highest score(34.5%).
The optimal fee in one service education was £Ü15,000 in the highest score(62.0%), and
the ideal teaching method in one inservice education was self- estimating in the highest
score(69.7%).
The content of needed ins ervice education in the near future was the nursing
intervention, the drug management in NIC was the highest score(80.7%), and the
emergence care was needed inservice education by the highest score(88.7%).
